How many tabs come in a jar of Ferritabs?
Also, we are setting up an Intex pool (4400 gallons) with a salt water pump for the first time. We have well water and our iron is relatively high. The filter with the pool is the cartridge style. My question is once we fill the pool with water, in what order should we use the Ferritabs? Can we set up the salt water pump beforehand after the pool is full?

We sell a treatment pack of ferritabs with 3 in a box for $15, or a full jar of 10 is $25. If you call the office to order we can do a flat $5 for shipping for you. You will need 1-2 tablets for start up, and one more if you add a more water over the summer. We suggest dropping one in each time you top off the water but with the size of your pool you could cut one in half for that.
You should add the water, then treat with ferritabs and begin to filter. The filter cartridge will need to be cleaned, and if they are readily available to you I’d actually treat the water until the cartridge turns really orange and then just replace all together.
You will want to remove the iron before adding chlorine to the pool. Adding chlorine or turning on the chlorine generator will often result in fluorescent green water when the higher pH pushes the iron out of solution and makes it even more visible.
