VM products instruction guidelines:

 Repair Work around Skimmers, drains, water jets and light fixtures beforehand:

Utilize the application guidelines below.

 For Concrete Surfaces:

1.  Prepare the concrete surface as per thermoplastic spray instructions by acid washing , sandblasting, power washing if removal of old surface is required.

2..    Epoxy the walls and the floor as per thermoplastic spray  instructions

3..    Flock coat the pool with thermoplastic spray

4..    Prepare all of the joints and gaps with VM Primer larger than the areas to be caulked.

5..    Caulk areas to be filled with VM 190. Smooth off with a trowel or a wet finger.

6.    Spray another layer of thermoplastic spray over the caulking before it skins over. This will allow the thermoplastic spray to penetrate into the caulking.        Note: If the caulking skins over:  simply wipe another layer of VM Primer onto it before you re-spray thermoplastic spray again. 

7.    Inspect all of the joints after your final application of thermoplastic spray.     If you notice any voids repeat step 4. and 5.

8.    Fill pool over caulked areas after 24 hours only.  

Special Note: the primer acts as the bonding agent between all surfaces. Shake the primer well Before use.

For Steel Wall Panels

1. Clean the wall panel with a degreaser

2. Epoxy the wall and floor as per thermoplastic spray instructions

3. Flock coat pool with thermoplastic spray

4. Prepare all joints and gaps with VM primer larger than area being caulked.

5. Caulk the areas to be filled with VM 190;  smooth off with a trowel or wet finger.

6. Spray another layer of thermoplastic spray over the caulking before it skins over.  This allows the thermoplastic spray to penetrate into the caulking.                                             Note: If the caulking skins over: simply wipe another layer of primer on before you re-spray the thermoplastic spray again

7. inspect all of the joints after your final application of thermoplastic spray.

8. If you notice any voids repeat step 4. and 5.

9. Filling the pool: over caulked areas after 24hrs only.

Special Note: the primer acts as the bonding agent between all surfaces. Shake the primer well Before use.

 

For Fiberglass:

1. Scuff surface to prep.  (If the original surface has been painted, the painted layer will need to be removed completely)

2. Clean the surface so it is dust-free and dry.

3. Epoxy the pool shell as per thermoplastic spray application instructions for X-40

4. Flock coat the pool with thermoplastic spray

5. Prep all joints and gaps with VM primer larger than area being caulked.

6. Caulk areas to be filled with VM 190 smooth off with trowel or wet finger.

7. Spray another layer of thermoplastic spray over caulking before it skins over.  This will allow the thermoplastic spray to penetrate into the caulking.  If the caulking skins over wipe another layer of primer before you spray thermoplastic spray.

8. Inspect all of the joints after your final application of thermoplastic spray.  If you notice any voids repeat step 4. and 5.

9. Fill pool over caulked area after 24hrs.

For Composite Panels:

Application for transition between composite panel and base of concrete floor:                      Simple. Follow the instructions for Concrete application above.

VM 190 Heat Resistant White Epoxy Caulking:

Fills in plaster pops and pits during thermoplastic spray installations.

Uses: fill in plaster pops/pits & used to bridge the gap between floor drains & pool fittings.

Application: clean and wipe the area with a lint free cloth and primer, apply caulking.   Once the caulking is skinned over, wipe again with primer and follow thermoplastic spray application instructions.

VM 290 Heat Resistant Caulking:

 Fills all transition joints between fiberglass, steel, composite and cement finishes.

Uses: gap filler used for gaps in wall panel joints/transitions joins; use around pool fittings, filling gaps up to 25 mm X 5mm.

Application: clean and wipe the area with the primer and a lint free cloth, apply caulking. Once its skinned over, wipe again with the primer and follow thermoplastic application manual instructions.

Designed specifically to Pre-treat aluminum surfaces such as copings, panels and steps for better adhesion.

Uses: neutralizes aluminum prior to application of thermoplastic epoxy and, creates good adhesion and excellent mechanical bond.

  • Clean and rough up metal surface
  • Shake container well and apply with a lint free cloth
  • Let dry for 10 minutes to allow solvent to evaporate
  • Apply epoxy within 24 hrs

Sold in 250 ml containers.

VM caulking requires this product.

VM Non-Porous Primer:

Designed specifically for non-porous surfaces for better adhesion.

Uses: creates sound mechanical and chemical bond between coats on non-porous surfaces.

Application:

  • Apply epoxy within 24 hours
  • Bonds over existing thermoplastic surface

VM Heat Resistant Fabric:

Protects heat sensitive areas such as thermoplastic finished surfaces

Uses: excellent for protecting larger areas ie: when spraying stencils and/or protection of pool perimeter shrubbery when applying thermoplastic spray finishes.
