The primary reason for variable speed pumps is the energy savings by running it on low and being able to step up the flow when needed. The only way of solving the eyeball size to low speed pump operation has been to change the eyeballs each time the pump is running. Now that doesn’t make any sense does it? So the most obvious solution is to run the pump on higher speed all the time,which negates the energy efficiency thing. Enter Eco Blu and the variable sized eyeball that is self regulating. The product is so new on the market that it is not even available yet. The new eyeballs require no special tools or expertise to install so homeowners can replace them themselves. Swimming Pool return jet innovation!
While walking the Atlantic City swimming pool show, we met a great company by the name of Eco Blu. They have just developed and applied for a patent on a new swimming pool return jet that dilates based on the velocity of the water running through the plumbing. This has been very important since the development and widespread use of variable speed pumps. The lower speed on these pumps drastically reduces the amount of flow of water but when sizing the return jets, the high speed determines the eyeball jet. The net result is that there is no aggitation or surface action when the pump is on low speed which results in dirtier pools and unhappy customers.
