Acrylic or Epoxy Paint?

I have a gunite pool that has not been painted. Its been a yr and company who did it apparently did it wrong bc its patchy now and gives off a white film??? Anyway, we want to paint it. Epoxy or acrylic? Which brand do you recommend? Do we need to sandblast first? Ive read epoxy is best. And no where did they say sandblasting just good cleaning. Thank you.

That’s one of the drawbacks with painting a gunite pool. Unless the prep is perfect, and sometimes even if it is, the paint will need to be redone regularly – sometimes even yearly to maintain it looking it’s best.

We’ve always heard paint manufacturers insist whichever type you paint it with the first time is what you should continue to use, and always follow the directions from the paint manufacturer. There are companies that will test your paint and match it to make sure you use the right product.
