Does my shaft seal replacement part have to be an exact match, or are there acceptable substitutes?

I think I have a seemingly older above ground sand filter pool pump (intex SF70110 part number), and the pump would leak out the bottom center of it. My research indicates that the shaft seal needs replaced, but I can’t find the replacement part. The 5/8″ size seems popular, but I don’t want to order one and be wrong, or do a “shotgun” order and have to return a bunch of parts either.

Is this something you’ve dealt with?

Thanks,
Collin
