Weird yellow webbing in pool after mayfly swarm

Two nights ago, we had an enormous swarm of what I think were mayflies around our pool. We turned off the lights and the next morning, our pool was full of these bugs. Today, I started cleaning out the pool and there is a very strange, yellow, thick, strong webbing all throughout. It has stopped up our pump and I’m cleaning out the filters every couple of hours. Any idea what this webbing is and how to get rid of it? There are still several “strings” that are attached to the bottom and sides of the pool. I tried to upload images but don’t have permission to do so. Thank you!
