Just a few quick tips for your new safety cover.
- When we get snow/rain, your cover will sag, this is normal. Sometimes the water/snow will build up on top of the cover, it will eventually drain through, so just let it do it’s job…no need to do anything!
- Even though the cover is “safe” keep kids and pets off the cover. It’s a tempting trampoline, but if there is ice under the cover jumping on it could cause damage to the pool tile/liner/walls etc.
- We recommend Closing your Safety Covered Pool Late in the season and Opening Early (April) to help prevent any algae from growing under the cover. You (or we) can also add 2-4 gal. of liquid chlorine under your cover as soon as the water thaws in the spring to help prevent this as added insurance.
- When we take the cover off in the spring, it should be stored in a clean/dry, rodent free zone. A large Rubbermaid tote or large plastic/rubber bin for that purpose is a great idea. Don’t just roll it up and put it in an outdoor shed, mice love making nests in it and that can result in holes straight through many layers.
- In the spring you may notice water coming through the cover, this is normal as the pool fills up with the snow/rain from over the fall and winter. Just call us to schedule your pool opening as normal. If you don’t plan to open your pool for the season, you will want to remove some water from the pool in the spring to make room for more.
- Call with questions if you have any that we haven’t covered here! Enjoy your Winter Season!
