My water was nice and clear. Now it’s brown and really cloudy. On the sand filter was leaking at the backwash. I replaced the seal on the multi port. But the strange part is, when I backwash the return jet is still ON. Even on filter mode it looks like it’s shooting out sand from the filter. Even though I replaced that part, the backwash is still leaking. Would that mean something is damaged inside the filter. The lateral or the downpipe just wanted to see your insight what do you think the issue is?
Answer:
It is possible to put the multiport back together backwards after changing a seal – it happens more than you would think. I’d double check that, from the looks of it you’ve backwashed into the pool – especially if the jets are returning the water when you are trying to backwash.
Good luck! Get the multiport resituated, let the pool sit and settle and vac to waste. Should be able to clear it up.
