Bio-Matter
[ˈbīōˌmatter]
NOUN
a thin, slimy film of bacteria that adheres to a surface.
Bio-matter protects bacteria against the dangers of the outer world and creates a barrier in order to protect the little organisms inside. |
Bio-Matter is REAL
Bio-matter
forms naturally, dental plaque is a common bio-matter. It can grow on
plants, animals, underwater, underground, on implanted medical devices.
Anywhere that dark, warm, and wet exist.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try to prevent bio-matter from forming, it usually does anyway. Bio-matter in hot tubs lead to cloudy water, odors, foam, scaling of the heater core which prevents efficient heating, and even corrosion of surfaces of the spa’s system including heaters, filters, jets, pillows, etc. Not to mention the existence of unsafe bacterial matter in the water and pipes. |

Compared
to free-floating bacteria, those growing as a bio-matter can be up to
1,500 times more resistant to antibiotics and other biological and
chemical agents including chlorine, according to a Microb magazine article.
Regularly using a product that is designed to clean out the plumbing is key to reducing the growth of bio materials. Brushing, cleaning, wiping surfaces help to break up biomatter and reduce their ability to form together or cause harm. Using products designed to aid againt the growth of biofilm in hot tubs is responsible, viable, and profitable. |
