Question: Hey, guys! You have been so helpful to me in the past; I am calling on you again! I have a serious algae issue. My pool has turned into a swamp. It had been fine all summer, then it started looking not so clear. I put in chlorine. That made it worse. And it started turning green. I knew it was going to be a ph problem so I took a sample to the local pool place for an analysis. The only real problem that showed was the ph problem. So I added 48 lbs of ph increaser, plus about 6 lbs of chlorine, and a bottle of algaecide. There has been no improvement. It is seriously green…dark green. Can you recommend a wonderful algaecide?
Answer:
If liquid chlorine is available in your area, that is our go to solution for algae green pools. Use 1 – 2 cases (depending on the severity and the type of pool you have). It would kill the algae (1 case – 2 cases) followed by adjustments to your ph and alkalinity, along with continual filtering (24/7) until it is clears up, and repeat if needed.
