Can newly Ecofinished FG pool be closed w/o salt, chlorine or Ecofinish Start up

Hey Pool Guy,
We are in Virginia, have a 11,000 gallon fiberglass pool with Ecofinish coatings. I say coating because it had the Ecofinish applied 2 years ago. However we had scaling soo bad this past spring/summer they determined the finish was too rough which contributed to the problem with removing the scaling.. So they agreed to reapply the Ecofinish this past week.
This time they did not sand nor prep the finish except wipe it down with Acetone… then sprayed right over the old scaling, etc…this was all done in one day.
They did not return the next day to meet the water truck so I added 3 bags of salt and a gallon of Beautec to the water, (it is a 11,000 gal. pool).. They returned, as planned the following week to close the pool but did not bring any salt or Ecofinish Start Up chemicals.. water tested 0 for salt and chlorine… They closed the pool, told me they would drop off some salt and the Start up but not to put them in until we open the pool next spring.
Sorry to be soo long but my questions are:
Will the life of the finish be shortened since it was not prepped according to Ecofinish standards?
Since there are no chemicals in the pool will we open the pool next spring to find stains, scaling and green water?

The person at this company that manages their Ecofinish projects does not appear to be very familiar with the product and or is more concerned with getting them done fast then getting them done right. Which is apparent since this is the second time they have done my pool.
Thanks you very much for the help. I actually hope he is correct, however for peace of mind, and to get my wife off my back it would be nice to have an experts opinion.

From what you describe, the pool was re-ecoFinished according to the best practices for the finish. Once the finish is on a pool if more has to be added as it was in your case, wiping with acetone and applying ecoFinish over it is the correct procedure. A benefit of the finish is that the start up is simple, just add water and begin balancing your pool as you normally would is all that is necessary. So it seems it was done as it should and you can resume your use next season per your normal routine. Keep in mind monthly water tests at a pool store will help you with water balance and keeping the pool from scaling. Balanced water is the key!
