Green stain on vinyl liner

1.02K viewschemicalsHow ToService

Opened our vinyl liner inground pool to minimum algae but even though we have shocked and algicided, the bottom of the deep section is still lime green as if stained. Does not sweep away, is not slimy at all. We are in Colorado Springs, and this liner is only 2 years old. Got any suggestions? Thanks

If the stain is organic, chlorine will remove it.
If the stain is metal based – iron or copper, Stain Free would remove it: https://amzn.to/3Oc2SX5
If neither of these works it could be algae in the liner itself, though that is pretty uncommon.
If the stain is metal, figure out where the metal came from – any screws fall in the pool? Any copper in the algaecide you use? Is the water chemistry on target? Is the source water tainted? We do sell FerriTabs to help sand filters remove iron since here in Michigan we battle that continually from heavy iron in our source water. https://askthepoolguy.com/store/ferritabs/
Best of luck!
