Hard Pipe Above Ground Pool

Last year we had a 21′ pool installed with a pump filter and electric heater. We only had about two months of use out of it due to the time it was installed and hook up. But I would like to remove the flimsy hoses that came with it and hard pipe it to clean it up and remove the chance of it leaking or bursting. Is there any guidelines or specifications on this or keep the system close to each other and use schedule 40 pvc? I need to purchase couplings to be able to remove the pipe when shut down as well. Any advice?
