Hot to Remove Diatomaceous Earth from Pool

Hi. My Mom has a 24′ above-ground pool. I got a new Hayward EC40 D.E. filter last year and accidentally used food grade diatomaceous earth and it all ended up going into the pool because it was too fine for the filter. I used pool grade D.E. this year and am still getting D.E. in the pool. Once I figure out why D.E. is leaking into the pool, how do I get the D.E. out? Do I have to drain the entire pool, or is there a product that will clump it together so I can vacuum it out? Thanks!
