I am having trouble with my FAC showing up on test. I have already sper chlorinated for the season, cleaned the chlorinator and all the valves and 90s. Have used filter revitalizer and even ran some algecide through for good measure. The pool looks great, its just not showing FAC.

You may have chlorine lock caused by stabilizer/conditioner. What is your CYA level? Higher than about 30-50 is too high, and you’d need to drain and refill some water to lessen the CYA – it’s the “inner tubes” for chlorine to attach to and float around in the water with until the chlorine is needed to do it’s sanitizing job. Too much and the chlorine is locked to the CYA and can’t sanitize. Too little and the sun will zap it out of the water.
