Opening of pool.

Hi, this is my situation and question. I have a 18×36 in ground pool salt. I leave my pump on during the winter and keep a leaf cover on the pool due to many trees close to pool. This winter we had a lot of rain in SC Upsate area and had to backwash many times which prevented me to keep up with salt level. It is 2200 salt level right now. I added shock weekly which kept the pool clear. Then we had early pollen season which eventually turned the pool green. My question is the order in which I clean the pool. Do I shock to clear up pool then scrub the walls and run robot vacuum and then get salt level right?
Thank you for your help! William.

Since a salt cell will not work until the pool water temperature is above 50-55 degrees, you should shock the pool and get it clean and balanced first and then worry about balancing your salt levels.
