Hello from NJ. We recently bought a house with a 15 year old pool which also has a spillover fiberglass spa. When we did get our first major rain, the spa popped out of the concrete (could not attach pictures). Since then every time it rains, it just comes back out (this is after spending hours of pumping the water from under it). I believe one of the pipes on the bottom is cracked, which attributes to this mess. Nobody wants to take on this job and i’m now thinking of simply throwing it out. Below are my two questions and i really hope you can answer them. 1. If i do fix this leak, how can i prevent the spa from coming out every time it rains (yes the water is in the spa). Based on pool company, this is not the first time. 2. If i do dump it, what is the best way to fill this hole, as it is right up against the pool.
I appreciate your help and hope there is light at the end of this crazy tunnel.
It’s likely ground water causing the issue. You may want to add some drainage with sump pump to the area (adjacent to the spa dig a hole down to below the level of the pool – drop a sump in and route the water out of the yard) and keep it in place to handle water as it comes down. It seems like that is more of the issue than a potential damaged pipe (which is also possible but much less likely) based on what you described.
