Hi,

I have a SVL56 Pool pump with an AO Smith Century Centurion 2hp motor 56Y. Looking at replacing it with the B855 or the B2843 that has a higher THP rating. Can I choose either? Also ist it possible to move up the a 3hp instead and is so is there any advantage?

Thanks

In general, exchange like with like.

With new rules about energy efficiency the hp sizes are required to be variable speed with larger motors. Also, plumbing size and filtration system determines the hp that the system can have, so keep that in mind, don’t just go bigger because you can.
