I have a de filter and after I backwash it, the pressure gauge starts to move up slowly. After about two hours the pressure gauge is sky high and water flow is greatly reduced. I can run my pool all day in the recirculate position and I never lose pressure. Any thoughts?

Have you disassembled the de filter and acid cleaned the grids? Are you using any type of water clarifier? Those two things can contribute to quick increases in pressure.
