Replace plastic steps with concrete steps

I bought a house with a filled in pool. We are in the early stages of reinstating the pool. It is a metal wall liner pool and the previous owner cut the top of the plastic stairs. I have watched your videos on hybrid pools and am wondering if it could be a good replacement option to pour concrete steps and waterproof them with something like Hydro Ban and tile or apply a plaster finish and secure the liner to them in the same fashion as the plastic steps, like you’ve done in videos with a gunite sunning platform. I can’t seem to find anything online showing someone doing this before, am I crazy in thinking that would work??

I understand my other options to be replacement stairs, entire removal or vinyl over steps. My solution sounds the nicest to me lol appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, that is exactly how you would accomplish new stairs in an existing pool. This video that Al did a while back explains how we handle the transition from vinyl to gunite/concrete in our new build pools.
