Replacement Pentair Pump Filter Salt

1.58K views

I have a 18’x36’ in ground rectangle pool with an 8’ deep end. The pool has 1.5” lines. I’m looking at replacing the original pump and filter and add a salt water system. I’m looking at Pentair products, but I’d like your recommendation. Can you recommend make and model…
1. Variable speed pump,
2. Filter,
3. and Salt Water Chlorination System
for my size pool.

For the pool you describe the Pentair SuperFlo Variable Speed Pump is recommended.
For a filter, if you use sand a TA60 also Pentair would be great.
Salt Water Chlorinating – ic40 is built to chlorinate up to 40,000 gallons of water if running 24 hours a day. If you are going to run your pool on a variable speed pump 24/hours a day you’ll be able to set the % production to be more than enough for your pool. If you go with an ic20 with the volume of water you have in your pool (likely close to 26k gallons) you won’t be able to make enough, as an ic20 is designed to produce enough chlorine to sanitize a 20k gallon pool if running constantly.
