I have a fiberglass pool 34x15x5.5 – my Pentair Challenger CFII-N1-3/4A that came with it has gone out – getting ready to sell our house. What is a good replacement that won’t break the bank?

It’s best to replace like with like, so if you can get the same pump at same specs the direct swap to another Challenger pump would be the best choice.
