Pool filters are responsible for keeping dirt, debris, and other small particles out of your pool. They do this by trapping them in a media, as the pump forces the water through the filter. The three most common filter medias used are sand, DE, and cartridges.
Periodic filter cleaning is essential to the effectiveness and performance of your pool filter. For most pools, the filter will require a thorough cleaning (once a year for DE filters) and once every 3-5 years for Sand Filters.
