POOLCORP SALES CENTER OPERATIONS UPDATE FOR CUSTOMERS: COVID-19
March 18, 2020 The safety of our employees, our customers, and our suppliers, and our communities remains at the top of our operating priorities. As you know, this is a very fluid situation and we understand that business decisions must be based on each unique situation and information from local jurisdictions. However, at this time, we believe the continued operations of our Sales Center locations is essential to the health and well-being of our communities. In fact, certain municipalities and federal regulators have requested that our product supply be available and the supply chain be maintained. Importantly, please note the following:
Proper sanitization will keep bodies of water safe for our community. As children and families across the country are being asked to shelter at home, providing the means for properly sanitized home pool environments is critical to helping maintain community health. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), COVID-19 cannot survive in properly treated pool and hot tub water. Untreated water can promote many other types of bacteria (Pseudomonas, Cryptosporidium, E. Coli, Shigella etc.). The World Health Organization (WHO) states that controlling water quality is necessary to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases:
For these reasons and unless otherwise instructed by a particular jurisdiction, POOLCORP’s wholesale distribution Sales Centers will remain open throughout this crisis to ensure the availability of pool and hot tub sanitization supplies for residential, community, and HMAC (Hotel, Motel, Apartment, and Condo). We have asked that each Sales Center adhere to the specific requirements of their local jurisdiction.
