If your swimming pool was designed properly, you should not need to spend any more than 1 hour per week to maintain. The goal should be to filter the water once per day (turn over rate) which is usually an average of 8 hour pump running cycle. Most pools today have automatic timers which turn the pump on and off. If you don’t have one on your pool, one can be added easily for a few hundred dollars. This is a worthwhile investment and will pay for itself over a short period of time. A timer will save you time because you don’t have to remember to turn pump on or off each day and will save you money because you won’t forget to turn it on or off saving you electricity and money for additional chemicals to clean up the pool.
A timer or an automation system is a win for your pool.
