Wood frame pool salvation?

I have a 16′ x 32′ inground pool with a wood frame. We have lived here (outside Boston) for 18 years. I don’t know how old the pool is. In 2016, we had the vinyl liner replaced, installed a heater, and had a vermiculite bottom put in, it had been sand. The long sides (32′ sides) at the exact center point looked then a little inwardly “dented”. The old-timer contractor said the “dead-man” posts that were there were fine. He thought we should just replace the liner and baby the pool. We did not replace the coping. So, now 4 years later “the dent” looks still more pronounced and the basketball hoop post that is installed on the edge of the pool looks tilted. We have a brick surround which we had replaced when we moved in 18 years ago. The brick patio is laid in sand. So, the question is, what’s happening? Is the ground shifting? Are the dead-man posts shifting? Are the walls bowing? The vinyl liner doesn’t look bad. What do we need to do? Also, I had a heck of a time trying to get the guy who did the work in 2016 to contact me back in 2020. I finally had an appointment and he didn’t show because one of his trucks broke down. (or maybe he just didn’t want to work on it….?)
