Just changed the sand in my old-style Hayward S200 filter (the kind with the bolts all the way around). When I reassemble it do I need to use any kind of gasket sealer or silicone between the 2 domes? I am going to replace the O ring while in there.

As long as it goes back together well you shouldn’t need to use any additional sealer or silicone. If you feel something is needed, a waterproof flexible sealant like Boss 801 would be the only one to consider.
