My current pool vendor who sold and installed the pool originally stated their installers can’t install a new liner to expand deeper than 5 or 5.5 feet. We have a leak in the current liner and thought this would be a good time to go deeper since the kids are now teens. Doughboy sells expandable liners to 8 feet so I’m not understanding why I’m being told we can only go to 5.5 feet.
Thank-you.
There are several variables that would need to be addressed – what is your soil type, and is excavating the extra depth going to be easy? Where to put the excavated dirt, how to remove it safely from the pool without damaging anything, and how are you going to reform the bottom to take a new liner are a few considerations. Can it be done, yes. At least perhaps get a second opinion and find out what it would really take to do. The first company may be a liner installer only and not have the knowledge or resources to take on this type of change. Good luck! Link to Doughboy Liner and Parts
