i have a vinyl liner inground pool, its newly constructed and i have been getting water behind the liner.. its not ground water but rather surface water.. it occurs high up on the wall in the same spots after it rains..it doesn’t occur all over the pool just in a few spots… my theory is that rain might be getting through the cantilevered concrete border i used as coping( its about 18”).. after the coping there is a gap and then my concrete decking.. my question is should that be caulked ( my builder said “no”, only if you had a concrete pool).. can water be getting through that expansion joint and getting behind the liner? i experimented by putting tarps down on the ground beyond the concrete thinking it would stop the water if it was surface water
(the ground isn’t graded yet by landscaper) but it didn’t help.. please help, this is driving me nuts…
