Can you please detail every issue one would encounter if they accidentally used the wrong sand in a sand filter, particularly a finer grade? Sand in pool jets would obviously be one issuue as the sand would slip through the screens in the laterals. What about issues with PSI? Sand getting stuck in the valve causing issues?
Yes, PSI issues, sand getting clogged in the pump/multiport/heater, cloudy pool water that will take a long time to clear up once you have cleaned out the filter and replaced with proper filter sand. There could be issues with your pool cleaners as well – it all depends on your pool and set up.
With the question 1. did you already put the wrong sand in the filter or 2. are you considering putting smaller grade sand in the filter for some unknown reason?
