Bromine to chlorine

I am going to try to switch my baquacil pool to a chlorine pool. I just opened my pool I have not added any chemicals since September of 2021. I have cleaned it out, brushed the walls, and vacuumed it twice. I bought some multi function shock to add in but I will need to run my pump. I have backwashed and rinsed. My question, do I change the sand before turning on the sand filter ?

If you can change the sand, then yes, we advise it when going from baquacil to chlorine. It gives your pool an additional clean slate for best results during your switch!
