Pool ozone generator

I recently noticed my water feature was not flowing as usual and there were lots of bubbles in the return.
After alot of time tracing, i noticed it is sucking air thru the fitting the hose connects to on top of the ozone generator that runs to the drain plug in the pump. I can hear the air and feel it sucking at this fitting. I took it off and plugged the hose and the air bubbles in returns dissapeared and water feature flow returned to normal.
Im not having any luck finding the hose and dial valve parts and wanted to know if it was ok to dissconnect the hose at the pump and install a plug and not run the ozone?
