I have a stonescapes finished pool. Approx 5 years old. Every year when we close, I balance the pool prior to closing. Every year when we open up the pool, we see etching, cracks, scale deposits and crystals.
I’ve tried everything and while this finish is supposed to last 15 years, everything leads me to believe that we will need to refinish in the next 2 years or so. I’m constantly battling a high PH between salt generator and maybe the pool finish. So I balance the pool twice or three times a week. It’s far too much to maintain. If I were to go with an Eco finish, would I be challenged similarly?
ecoFinish is more forgiving to water chemistry than other types of pool finish so you will likely experience less issues. Keep in mind if you balance the pool before you close though the change in water temperature will affect the balance of the water and result in some of the issues you have with scale and deposits. If you adjust your balancing process to account for the changes in temperature, and if you use an over the winter scale reducer you may see better results.
