Pool coving is getting blistered

Our metal coving is getting blistered possibly by the salt water. We scrape and paint every year. It looks bad. It is worse where the steps and where the cover drips. I think it might be salt water causing it. What can we do? If replaced, what should we use? Thank you,

It could be the salt causing it for sure. Do you have a zinc anode on your pool system? It’s designed to take trace voltage since your salt water pool can conduct electricity at a very small rate. The anode is designed to take the electrical charge and limit the damage to other components on your pool. Make sure you have this, and then sadly, the scraping and painting is going to have to be continual maintenance you do, unless you decide to stop using a salt generator and convert to simple chlorine.
