As safety covers age, the mesh can thin out, allowing more sun to penetrate the cover. Add in an early spring thaw and warm up followed by interesting weather and a lot of rain, and what we have here is an algae filled vinyl liner swimming pool.
At the opening we add a case of liquid chlorine – the good stuff you can only get direct from a pool supplier – and start the system allowing the filter to start doing it’s job. After about an hour, the pool already looks a lot better. Give it 24 hours of continual run time, vacuum the dead algae to waste, and you’ll be ready to swim!
